What is the Alliance?The mission of the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education is to educate and support continuing medical education (CME) professionals and to promote leadership in the development of CME in order to improve health-care outcomes and the performance of health-care providers. The Professional Society for Medical Educators For 20 years the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education has been the professional society for people from all settings offering continuing education for physicians and other health-care professonals, e.g., medical schools, large and small speciality societies, pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers, publishers, CME entrepreneurs, communication companies, computer software companies and others. The Alliance is a rapidly growing organization with more than 1,600 members from the United States, Canada, and several foreign countries. It was founded to provide a forum for both experienced and novice practitioners of CME to continue their own education about the art and science of how physicians learn. The purpose of the Alliance is to provide educational opportunities, professional development, information exchange and supportive member services. The Alliance strives to help members adapt to the changing health-care environment and to use modern methods, such as technology and informatics, to improve their services to physicians.
